Alexis Fitzpatrick- Blog Post #2

What I know more from the characters is that George is using Lennie to protect them both from Curly just in case he tries to fight them.  He does anything to keep them both, Lennie and him, out of trouble so they can make the money and leave. George doesn't seem to like working there and wants to fight the boss's son and will continuously lie to help keep their jobs. "George said, "He's my... Cousin. I told his old lady I'd take care of him. He got kicked in the head by a horse when he was a kid. He awright, Jus ain't bright. But he can do anything you tell him." (Steinbeck, Page.23). Lennie is beginning to get weaker since he's scared of where they are, not wanting to fight or get in trouble. "Lennie cried out suddenly- "I don't like this place, George. This ain't no good place. I wanna get outta here." (Steinbeck, page. 32). He also starts to remember things that George tells him such as going back to the bush by the river they slept at. Curly seems like a jerk to everyone just because he thinks that someone will try to steal his wife and he's keeping a glove full of Vaseline on his left hand. "Curly seemed really to see George for the first time. His eyes flashed over George, took in his height, measured his reach, look at his trim middle." (Steinbeck, Page.37). Though him and George are the same height, he still thinks that he can boss around everyone. Curly's Wife has the eye for all the men at her husband's job, flirting with them as well. The old swamp calls her a "Tart".
