Trevor Banks Post #3

Mercy killing is when someone is suffering with something and you kill the to put them out of their misery. It’s usually to stop someone from being in pain for too long by killing them and getting it. Say a dog got ran over and it has a major brain injury. It would be more humane to euthanize it then keep it alive. That is why many animals get put asleep after major injuries. If a human is a “vegetable” or brain dead, then someone has to make the choice to pull their plug. Some people wouldn’t agree with that but in reality it’s the most humane way to do it. Nobody would want to suffer so it seems fair to do that. It really depends on the situation though. If the injury is minor and it won’t permanently affect them in a bad horrible way then you shouldn’t mercy kill them. I they went brain dead its justifiable though. At least that’s my opinion.

  1. I agree that it does seem fair. Nobody would want to see the person or animal they care about suffer. If most people wouldn’t want to do it for the one they love, some people would consider it selfish. I think putting them out of their misery is the only thing they could do. And you’re right, if it’s just a minor injury, then you don’t have to do it. But if it’s a serious one, then you have to do it.
