Jose Castulo Post #3

Mercy killing is when a patient suffering from an incurable and painful disease is killed, usually using large doses of painkilling drugs. The person choses to do this because they think that it is the best way to relieve there pain. This is done to many humans because they don’t want to live the life of having to hold the pain and die slowly so instead they rather ask to take pills so that they would just sleep and not wake up at all. On animals it is done because if a person sees that an animal is suffering than they feel bad and decide to just kill them so they won’t feel anymore pain. In the book “Of Mice and Men” Carlson killed Candy’s dog because he was already old and could barely move, and the dog was also smelly and so Carlson told Candy to kill the dog.
