Adeca Chareunsab, Post 1

I think this book will be about Lennie and George working through hardships to get the future that they want. “I got you! You can’t get a job and you lose me ever’ job I get. Jus’ keep shovin’ all over the country all the time. An’ that ain’t the worst. You get in trouble. You do bad things and I got to get you out” (Steinbeck, pg. 12). Through that quote, you can tell George has gone trough a lot to take care of Lennie and dealing with him. Despite him saying that, George wants Lennie to stay with him. “I want you to stay with me, Lennie” (Steinbeck, pg. 14). I think the book will end with George and Lennie being separated because at the end of the chapter we read so far, they had this conversation; “ ‘Cause I can jus’ as well go away, George, an’ live in a cave.” “You can jus’ as well go to hell, shut up now” (Steinbeck, pg. 17). It seem liked George didn’t care and didn’t give it a second thought that it could happen, but the conversation between them foreshadows that something might happen between them.
