Adeca Chareunsab - Post 4

After the death of Lennie, I predict that George chooses to work at the barn still instead of getting the ranch that Lennie, Candy, and him wanted. In the book, Candy asked George if they were still going to get the ranch but George was silent and Candy knew what that meant (Steinbeck, pg. 92). George would change a bit. For George, being with Lennie was really stressful (Steinbeck, pg. 12). But now that he’s gone, he has no one to take care of and no one to be by his side. Lennie was someone close to him and special to his heart. When the guys would invite him to Suzy’s place, George would reject them and stay at the bunkhouse, thinking about Lennie. The only people who he would confine in would be Candy and Slim because they know how close they were and Slim knows George and Lennie’s backstory (Steinbeck, pg. 41). He would get depress sometimes but his personality would still be the same.

  1. I think as well that George is still going to work at the barn now that he doesn't have a person who causes trouble all the time is is going to be able to be calm. He won't have to worry about anything unless he does something. Now that Lennie has been shot George won't be alone because Candy and Slim are there they always been so nice to him. I predict that t might take George awhile to forget about his loss and more because he was the one who shot him. But I think George did the right thing because either way they were going kill him. I would rather be shot in the head then in guts cause then I would of suffer real bad from the bullet.
