After firing a bullet to the back of Lenni's head, George when back with the other guys and had a drink. George was still filled with emptiness and guilt but he knew it was the right thing to do, I mean Lennie was so much trouble and it would get George involved because Lennie was basically his pet. Now George will work for himself and start getting the money he needs. Later on George created a strong bond with the other characters because of what had happened earlier, even Curley because he was there also. George will always remember what he had done, but what has been done is done. Everything has changed, everywhere they go its more peaceful. George doesn't have to put up with Lennie anymore and the rest of the guys dont have to deal with Lennie causing trouble and killing things. George later on success' on getting his own place with Candy and lives a normal, healthy life.
