Karina Ordaz post #4
With no information given about what happens to George after he kills Lennie, I think George future will lead to how it would be like if he never took responsibility of Lennie. When George use to "give hell" to Lennie when Lennie use to get himself involve with all kinds of trouble, George use to tell him "If I was alone I could live so easy. I could go get a job an' work, an' no trouble. No mess at all, and when the end of the month come I could take my fifty bucks and go into town and get whatever I want. Why, I could stay in a cat house all night. I could eat any place I want, hotel or any place, and order any damn thing I could of think of. An' I could do all that every damn month"(John Steinbeck, p.12). All that fantasy he use to say, he will eventually start doing it because He doesn't have Lennie around anymore, he doesn't need to be watching over someone like if they were his kid or having to protect and get involve in no trouble no more. He is a free man with no responsibility, and every month he will be having a normal life.
