At the end of the book a lot happened. Lennie accidently killed Curly’s wife, and George killed Lennie because he didn’t want Lennie to suffer. Since George and Lennie we’re like brothers I’m pretty sure it took a big toll over George when Lennie dies. They had a dream that they were after. Getting the cattle and raising the rabbits was really Lennie’s dream, but it became a goal when George met candy. George was actually considering going along with the plan. I think George is going to live in misery because Lennie is gone. He feels there’s no point of going through with the plan because it was Lennie’s from the begging. George may stay at the ranch with all the other guys until he dies. “You an’ me can get that little place, can’t we George? You an’ me can go there an’ live nice, can’t we, George?  Can’t we?” Before George answered, Candy dropped his head and looked down at the hay, He Knew. George said softly “ I think I knowed from the very first. I think I knowed we’d never do her. He usta like to hear about it so much I got to thinking maybe we would.” George said. “ Then it’s all off?” Candy asked Once Lennie died everything went down hill for George so he gave up.
