Alexis Fitzpatrick- Post #4

With the saddening ending of Lennie dying. I believe that George will get over him slowly since he'll be able to do things without having to drag Lennie around. After coming back from the scene where Lennie's body is, George would barely do the normal things he did when Lennie was around. But even though George was the one who put an end to Lennie, it didn't mean he didn't have any feelings while doing so since they had basically grew up together and traveled together. They also were together through the tough things. I think he'll getting a house and a woman within the next couple of months to help getting over Lennie. George would have quit working at the barn along with some of the other men like Candy. Even with Lennie gone, they could still want to live that dream just for Lennie and for the memory of him. Reason's why I believe this is because from the ending, it seems like Slim feels bad for George after having to shoot his own best friend that was like his brother. "Slim twitched George's elbow. "Come on, George. Me an' you'll go in an' get a drink." George let himself be helped to his feet. "Yeah, a drink." Slim said, "You hadda, George. I swear you hadda. Come on with me." He led George into the entrance of the trail and up toward the highway." (Steinbeck, Page 105-104).
