Leslie Post 4
After the death of Lennie, I predict that George is going to keep working at the barn instead of getting the house Lennie and Candy were going to get. In the book Candy ask George if they were still going to get the ranch but George didn't say anything (Steinbeck, pg 92). George was really stressed because he had to look over Lennie so much (Steinbeck, pg 12). But now that Lennie is gone he has no one to look after and no one by his side. Lennie was a guy who was real close to George. When the other guys would invite him to go over at Suzy's house he would reject and just stay by Lennie so he wouldn't cause any trouble. The only people who could confine George is Slim and Candy because first of all Slim knew Lennie's and George back story and Candy well he was good friends with them because they were all going to get a ranch together.

I disagree with you; I think that George is going to fall into deep depression now that Lennie isn’t around. I think that at the bar he’s going to look up and see the most beautiful girl in the world and instantly fall in love. The girl filled the empty space Lennie’s death left. George bought the ranch he intended was for him and Lennie but now with the girl of his dreams and Candy.
