I think the book as wee get more deep into it will be about how two men try to get by during the hard times of the Great Depression. The book will be surrounded around two of some of our main characters and their struggle to maintain a job and shelter. As we read more I think the characters that we've been introduced to so far are going to speak their minds on what they think about one another, and will cause there friendship to slowly fall apart. " An' whatta I got, " " I got you! You can't keep a job and you lose me ever' job I get " (Steinbeck page #12). I think that later on in the book something bad will happen to Lennie since he seems to be a child trapped in an adults body be doing something dumb again "You do bad things and I got to get out" (Steinbeck page #12). This making them have to get a new job and them parting there separate ways and Lennie getting hurt.
