George and Lennie have left town because Lennie thought that the lady was a pet so he grabbed her as if she was a pet (Steinbeck, pg. 13 Para 1). George won't let Lennie have a dead mouse because it not fresh (Steinbeck, pg. para3). Lennie's Aunt Clara would always give Lennie a mouse and when the mouse would bite him he would pinch their head and kill them. She even gave him a rubber mouse but Lennie didn't like it cause it didn't feel the same. They are heading to go to meet with this guy so that they can get a job. George tells Lennie everything that he is supposed to say. He also tells him what he can and can't do. George told Lennie that if he gets into any trouble that he needs to come back and hide in the brush until he came back (Steinbeck, pg. 16 through 17 Para 7-1)
