So far what I predict about the
book Of Mice And Men is that one of the main characters, Lenny is
mentally disabled, I say this because Lenny presents the characteristics of a
child. I have a cousin named Jennifer and she is mentally disabled and presents
some of the same characteristics that Lenny does. George is the second main
character in this story and he basically Lenny's caregiver. Ever since Lenny's
aunt Clara died George took responsibility for Lenny and his actions.
I think this book is going to in a tragic
manner. I predict that George will soon enough get overwhelm with all the responsibility
of taking care of Lenny and will soon realize that he will never get that ranch
he and Lenny have always dreamed of so he will just give up on all home. All of
the stress and lost hope will lead George to actions of suicide, fallowing
these actions I think that Lenny will do the same. What lead me to this
prediction is what he said ". God a ‘mighty, if I was alone I could live
so easy ... I could eat any place I
want..."(Steinbeck, pg.12). In this quote he is basically saying that he
would be so much happier being alone. If he does kill himself I think the
reason would be because he wants to be alone and the only way to do that and
still not feel guilty is by suicide.
Comparing Lennie to one of your family members is a good way because it can help you understand one of the characters thinking, and a way of understanding their emotions. What you actually did good on is going deep on how the ending of the story will end. From the citation that you give, it helps it understand how George would try to suicide himself to be alone. The only thing that would make this more better is adding more citations instead of one. It will show how your opinion matter from using those citations.
