Melanie POST #1

So far the book has introduced us to George and Lennie, George practically takes care of Lennie. I think Lennie is behind, He doesn't seem to understand certain things. And Lennie is always getting in trouble. And George is always yelling at Lennie and calling him "Crazy Bastard" ect.  Lennie likes to pet animals but always ends up killing them, George doesn't let him keep mice because he kills them.
George was yelling at Lennie saying that he would be better by himself (Steinbeck, pg.12). After what George said Lennie reacted to it and told George that if he didn't want him to be with him that he just had to tell him so that he could leave and go find a cave to live in (Steinbeck, pg.14). George said he didn't want Lennie to leave because he might get mistaken with a coyote and might end up getting shot, And also he didn't want Lennie to leave because he didn't have sense to even find something to eat and also to not get in any trouble (Steinbeck, pg.14). I think Lennie is going to wait till George falls asleep so that he can leave and find a cave so he doesn't cause George any trouble.

  1. Maybe Lennie doesn't leave when George falls asleep. Maybe he does, I think that Lennie and George have a friendship that not a lot of people can understand and maybe Lennie knows that. Maybe knowing that will make him wanna stay, also the rabbits. I think that Lennie looks up to George as a father figure because he takes care of him, but maybe Lennie loves George so much that he will leave so George doesn't have to worry about him anymore.
