At the end of Chapter two we know more about our four main characters (George, Lennie, Curly and Curly's wife). Make predictions on how you feel each of these characters will effect one another? Will these be positive or negative influences? Explain. What is the worst thing you think will happen? Why?
These are all thinking prompts. You may respond as you wish.

Noemy - What I know more about the characters is that George and Curly will not get along very well. By the way George talks to him, you can tell he doesn't like him very well. When he said "Ya know, Lennie, I'm scared I'm gonna tangle with that bastard myself. I hate his guts. Jesus Christ! Come on. They won't be a damn thing left to eat." (Steinbeck, pg 37) Lennie and Curley are a different story. Curley doesn't like him because he is big. Curley tends to pick on bigger people than him because he is really short. Although, Lennie hasn't done anything to Curley, Curley just doesn't like him. "Well … tell you what, Curley's like a lot of little guys. He hates big guys. He's alls time picking scraps with big guys. Kind of he's mad at 'em because he aint a big guy. You seen little guys like that aint you? Always scrappy?" ( Steinbeck , pg 26) Is the reason he doesn't like big guys. Curleys wife and George are not a good thing. George doesn't like her because she is always flirting around. George doesn't want Lennie getting near her because she was being very flirty when she was looking for Curley. I think Curley will try and fight Lennie probably just because he wants to pick a fight. Curley's wife will probably try and get with one of them too. Since that is what she probably wants.
